Loading Screen

A cinematic loading screen with rotating backgrounds, configurable copy and player-controlled music.

se_loadingFiveMDocumented version 1.4.0

Requirements

A FiveM server. The resource declares its own loading screen and manages its shutdown. Keep the folder named se_loading.

Installation

Place the resource in your server's resources folder and add its startup entry. Check that your server configuration is not also starting another loading screen.

cfg
ensure se_loading

Configuration

Edit web/config.js for text, tags, broadcasts, colors and music. Edit shared/config.lua for the transition into the game and the maximum safety timeout.

Configure rotation in backgrounds. Set backgrounds.enabled to false to keep the first background. Each entry in backgrounds.items accepts file, phrase and an optional position. Background assets belong in web/assets.

Usage & commands

Place background.mp3 in web/music for automatic detection, or choose a different filename in the music settings. Set volume between 0.0 and 1.0. Use rememberPreference: true to remember the player's music toggle.

Players toggle music with M. Audio fades out when the loading screen closes. In-game progress comes from FiveM loadProgress events.

Troubleshooting

Browser previews use demonstration progress, not a live server connection. Verify the real loading flow in FiveM.

If music is missing, check the filename, configured volume and the player's M toggle. Shutdown is requested by the multicharacter integration, with playerSpawned and a maximum timeout as fallbacks; review shared/config.lua if the transition needs adjusting.

These guides cover the versions shown. Check the README included with your package when using a different release.
