Mechanic

01Requirements

ox_lib and oxmysql are mandatory, alongside your selected framework, inventory and target providers. Supported frameworks: ESX, QBCore and Qbox.

Inventory providers: ox_inventory or qb_inventory. Target providers: ox_target or qb_target. se_ui is optional with an ox_lib fallback. se_skills is optional and is the only supported skill system.

02Installation

Install and configure the selected providers first. Choose them in shared/config.lua before the first start, then start se_mechanic after all required providers. The example below is for an ESX + ox setup, not every framework.

Workshop jobs, grades and company accounts must already exist in your framework or job creator. The setup assistant does not install resources, create jobs or restart the server.

03Configuration

Use /se_mechanic_config with administrator ACE permission after the resource is running. The first-run assistant covers interface style, providers, workshop, gameplay and a final confirmation.

Choose Classic (blue, green, amber, purple or graphite) or Cyberpunk. Saved style is global, not player-specific; external inventories and billing interfaces retain their own styling.

Keep config/admin_overrides.json and config/setup_state.json when updating. Use explicit providers in production instead of relying on auto detection.

04Usage & commands

Create workshops from the configurator using an existing, exclusive job for each workshop, then place its operating points. Storage, work orders and invoices follow the employee's current workshop job.

Billing is optional. If no supported billing provider is active, the billing app remains hidden. Without se_skills, work remains available with normal tools and items, but skill bonuses and XP are disabled.

05Troubleshooting

If the configurator cannot open, check administrator permissions, startup logs and provider selection in shared/config.lua. The in-game assistant requires an already working resource.

For missing QBCore inventory images, check that the images declared in shared/items.lua exist in qb-inventory/html/images. Some billing providers only report invoice delivery, not payment status.
